Wesley Poole, Videographer
Illuminating
the state Capitol and shooting footage until the wee hours of
the morning takes endurance, patience and skill. Wesley Poole
demonstrated that and more when he teamed with videographer
Doug Morris, producer Diane Dimoff, production assistant Lukas
de Gruyl and a free-lancer for three intensive nights of shooting
at the Capitol. Wesley's camera also rolled on multiple other
shoots for "A Moving Monument: The West Virginia State
Capitol," including a trip to Archives and History to record
footage of the full size, original blueprints of the Capitol
and Governor’s Mansion.
For
the night shoots at the Capitol, Wesley and our crew used HMI
lights and gels to illuminate the majestic building and capture
beautiful video for the documentary. Wesley also was there to
capture the sights and sounds of the chandeliers being lowered
at the state Capitol for cleaning and restoration. Capturing
the tinkling sounds of the chandeliers was the perfect assignment
for Wesley.
A
videographer and editor at MotionMasters since 1998, he uses
his knowledge of sound and recording on many of the company’s
projects. In fact, he even attended sound school to hone his
skills. His interest in sound dates back to his days as a musician.
Wesley played in several groups that wrote and recorded rock
music and toured for 10 years on the college circuit. They also
played country and traditional music at various functions throughout
the state.
At
MotionMasters, he has shot and edited thousands of hours of
completed productions, from long format to broadcast commercials.
Wesley's credits include an extensive list of corporate and
educational videos. He also shot footage for the documentaries
"The Soul of the Senate: Robert C. Byrd" and "John
Marshall: Citizen, Statesman, Jurist."
